Key Details

Annual Salary: $77,000

Work hours: LeBlanc (& co.) Communications has a 4 day (32 hour) work week for salaried employees, from Monday-Thursday. 

Vacation: We provide 4 weeks vacation per year; plus a company shutdown between Christmas Eve and New Year’s.

Location: This role will be hybrid in Canada with a mix of primarily virtual and some in-person work. 

Contract Length:

  • Term, 16 month (Parental leave coverage)
  • Term begins mid-June 2026.
  • Term ends October 2027.

This position requires the ability to work in Canada.

The CEO and Director of Operations are dedicated to providing training and guidance related to this role.

Role Summary

The Brand Design Manager leads and supports brand and communications design projects, ensuring that we create high-quality design that aligns with our clients’ goals. 

This role executes and oversees brand refreshes, rebrands, campaign identities, and report design, providing art direction and managing subcontractor designers to keep projects on schedule. The Brand Design Manager also collaborates closely with colleagues and clients — participating in meetings, facilitating design visioning conversations, executing design collateral, and coordinating with internal teams to ensure smooth project delivery. In addition, the role contributes to internal systems and processes, maintains project tracking, and supports effective communication across the design and consulting team.

On average, this role can be estimated as 80% executing design work and 20% offering art direction to colleagues.

Contract Length: This role is a 16-month position to cover a parental leave.

Job Activities

Leading Execution on Design Projects

  • Create brand identities for organizations through leading brand refreshes and rebrands for clients 
  • Create brands for campaigns and projects 
  • Update client project dashboards and keep design projects on track to meet timelines
  • Communicate with clients on design projects, providing excellent client experiences
  • Attend client meetings 
  • Facilitate or co-facilitate design visioning conversations with clients 

Art Direction on Design Projects 

  • Support colleagues who are leading design projects with internal review and art direction
  • Lead report design and art direction
  • Art direct miscellaneous projects
  • Art direction for LeBlanc (& co.) as a brand

Misc.

  • Execute miscellaneous graphic design production work, as needed

Teamwork and Client Support Activities 

  • Attend staff meetings, other internal meetings, and team retreats (may require occasional travel)
  • Support the Director of Operations and CEO in maintaining and improving systems and processes related to design work 
  • Regularly update Director of Operations and CEO on project statuses and timelines
  • Receive and process client feedback and revisions 
  • Collaborate with the Digital Design Manager on handoff for web projects
  • Support and engage with colleagues at LeBlanc (& co.) on various internal and external projects

Key Skills

Required:

  • 4+ years of graphic design experience, including significant experience in developing brands and some experience in art direction
  • Commitment to social change and equity
  • Proficient with Adobe Create Cloud and Canva
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage deadlines and follow operational systems
  • Collaborative team player
  • Receptive to feedback from leadership, clients, and colleagues

Desirable but not required:

  • Experience in social impact work (nonprofit, labour, philanthropy, public sector, activism, etc.)
  • Experience in agency design
