As a network, DNC brings together over 60 Canadian organizations working to advance global LGBTIQ+ human rights. In working with us, their ultimate goal was to use communications to strengthen the movement in Canada for global LGBTIQ+ rights. As their organization grew, Dignity Network Canada partnered with us to strengthen their communications, refresh their brand, and develop a new website, giving the organization a consistent, compelling presence aligned with their values and mission.

We started by working with Dignity Network Canada to develop a comprehensive Communications Strategy that grounded the organization’s presence in their unique strengths: their national network, their relationship with the Canadian government, and their accountability to global movements.
The strategy identifies the organization's audiences and objectives in communications, and how the objectives will be met. In a robust discovery process, we reviewed how Dignity Network Canada communicates and how they can step further into the leading role they play in strengthening Canada’s contribution to global LGBTIQ+ rights. Our discovery phase for writing the Communications Strategy included surveying DNC’s members; consulting with their staff, board, and key partners; conducting audits of their current communications output; and conducting an environmental scan of how their peer organizations communicate.
To support effective communication, we wrote a Message Guide that clarified Dignity Network Canada's brand positioning, establishing bold new messaging that could better explain the organization's impact. The new key messsaging sets up DNC for success in public engagement, collective advocacy, and government relations. In addition to core organizational messaging, DNC's Message Guide also covers tone guidance, naming conventions, messaging for major initiatives, and accessible language for topics like decolonial approaches, legislative change, and intersectionality.
Together, the Communications Strategy and Message Guide equip Dignity Network Canada's team with clear, consistent, and practical language and strategy guidance.





We refreshed Dignity Network Canada’s visual brand to better reflect the organization’s growth, impact, and credibility. In using a "woven" motif, their new brand identity takes inspiration from themes found across DNC’s work: networks, partnership, and collective power.
The visual brand features warm and authentic photography, a vibrant and globally inspired colour palette, and graphic elements that mimic the interwoven nature of networks. The tone struck by the typography, with fonts Aleo and Inter, creates a balance of approachability and professionalism, which supports both government-facing communications and community-based storytelling.
The refreshed brand system is flexible and accessible, enabling Dignity Network Canada to show up consistently across reports, presentations, digital content, in-person convenings, and member-facing materials.

We designed a brand new website for Dignity Network Canada, using the refreshed visual brand and Message Guide as a basis for an engaging digital experience. We prioritized a clear UX (user experience) and created a new website that is easy to navigate. The resulting site puts DNC’s impactful work front and centre, with essential information on their programs, advocacy, collaboration with members and international partners, and news. The new website is an important part of their overall communications strategy, providing a modern look and showcasing the breadth of DNC’s work through clear, accessible webpages and content. The website showcases Dignity Network Canada's new messaging and makes their impact unmissable.
As Dignity Network Canada operates in both English and French, the website is a bilingual Wordpress website that meets both accessibility standards and Dignity Network Canada's needs in bilingualism.
